Safe Learning Is Everyone’s Responsibility
BGB 360 Academy is committed to providing a learning environment that respects the safety, dignity and wellbeing of children, young people, vulnerable adults, educators and other users.
This policy explains the standards expected when using courses, meetings, messaging, live classes, community features and institutional learning services. It should be read with our Acceptable Conduct Policy, Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
1. Purpose and Safeguarding Principles
Safeguarding means taking reasonable steps to prevent harm, identify concerns, respond appropriately and support a culture in which users can report unsafe conduct without fear of retaliation.
The safety and best interests of a child or person at risk are central to safeguarding decisions. Every person has an equal right to protection without discrimination based on nationality, ethnicity, religion, sex, gender, disability, language, social background or other status.
2. Who and What This Policy Covers
This policy applies to Academy personnel, administrators, educators, instructors, contractors, learners, parents, guardians, organizational customers and other users of platform services. It covers conduct through profiles, courses, messages, forums, meetings, live sessions, recordings, events and interactions arranged through the platform.
3. Children and Vulnerable Users
For this policy, a child generally means a person under 18 years of age unless applicable law provides otherwise. A vulnerable user may include a person whose age, disability, dependency, communication needs or personal circumstances increase their risk of abuse, exploitation or avoidable harm.
Safeguarding protection is not limited to children. Concerns affecting vulnerable adults, educators or other users may also require protective action under this policy, the Acceptable Conduct Policy or applicable law.
4. Shared Responsibilities
Everyone using the platform must communicate respectfully, maintain appropriate boundaries, protect personal information and report conduct that may place another person at risk.
Schools, colleges, academies, employers and other organizations remain responsible for their own safeguarding obligations, personnel checks, supervision, permissions, reporting procedures and compliance with local law. Use of the platform does not transfer those responsibilities to BGB 360 Academy.
5. Prohibited Conduct
Abuse, grooming, sexualization, exploitation, harassment, coercion, intimidation, discrimination, humiliation, threats, stalking, blackmail, retaliation and encouragement of self-harm or dangerous activity are prohibited.
Users must not request or share sexual content involving a child; seek unnecessary intimate, financial, identification or location information; pressure a user to keep communications secret; misuse a position of trust; or arrange inappropriate private contact through the platform.
6. Professional Boundaries for Educators
Educators must maintain a professional relationship with learners, use appropriate language and materials, communicate for legitimate educational purposes and avoid favouritism, dependency, secrecy or conduct that could reasonably be misunderstood as exploitative or inappropriate.
An educator must not develop a sexual or exploitative relationship with a learner, offer inappropriate gifts, request private images, make unnecessary physical or personal comments, or use access to a learner for unrelated financial, personal or romantic purposes.
7. Online Sessions and Communications
Online sessions should use appropriate backgrounds, language, clothing, materials and communication channels. Educators should avoid secret or disappearing communications and should follow applicable parent, guardian or organizational participation requirements.
Where reasonably appropriate, sessions involving children should be visible or accessible to an authorized parent, guardian or organization. Users must not move communication off the platform to avoid safety controls, supervision, records or reporting procedures.
8. In-Person Contact and Meetings
Users must not arrange inappropriate private in-person contact with a child through the platform. Any legitimate in-person educational activity involving a child must comply with applicable law and the safeguarding, supervision, consent, location and risk-management procedures of the responsible parent, guardian or organization.
9. Recording, Images and Personal Information
Sessions, messages, images, audio and video must not be recorded, copied or distributed without an appropriate purpose and any notice, permission or consent required by law. Images or recordings involving children require particular care and must never be used for exploitation, humiliation or unauthorized promotion.
Safeguarding information should be shared only with people who need it to assess risk, protect a person, comply with law or respond to a concern. Related personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
10. Verification and Platform Profiles
Users should review an educator’s or organization’s profile and suitability before arranging a service. Identity, qualification or organization verification does not automatically represent a criminal-record check, safeguarding clearance or guarantee of suitability unless the applicable profile or service expressly states otherwise.
11. Reporting a Safeguarding Concern
Report a safeguarding concern promptly through our Contact page or by emailing info@bgb-360.com with the subject Safeguarding Concern.
Provide the affected person’s name or account details where known, a factual description of what occurred, relevant dates, the platform feature involved and any immediate safety risk. Do not circulate sensitive material more widely than necessary.
Do not conduct your own investigation, promise absolute confidentiality or confront a suspected person where doing so could increase risk, compromise evidence or interfere with action by an organization or competent authority.
12. Immediate Danger and Emergency Action
BGB 360 Academy is not an emergency service. If a person is in immediate danger or urgent medical, child-protection or law-enforcement assistance is required, contact the emergency services or competent authority in the location of the affected person first. Notify the Academy afterwards when it is safe and appropriate to do so.
In Norway, immediate danger can be reported to emergency services on 112. Children and young people in Norway may also contact Alarmtelefonen for barn og unge on 116 111. Users elsewhere should contact the appropriate local emergency or child-protection service.
13. How We May Respond
Depending on the available information and level of risk, we may preserve relevant records, restrict communication, remove content, suspend or terminate an account, contact a parent, guardian or responsible organization, request further information or refer the concern to a competent authority.
Protective restrictions may be applied while a concern is reviewed. A platform response does not replace an investigation or decision by law enforcement, child-protection services, an employer, educational institution or other competent body.
14. Confidentiality and Record Handling
Reports will be handled sensitively and shared only where reasonably necessary for safety, assessment, legal compliance, organizational responsibility or investigation. Complete confidentiality cannot be guaranteed where information must be disclosed to protect a person, comply with law or respond fairly to an allegation.
15. Good-Faith Reports and Retaliation
A person will not be penalized merely because a concern reported honestly and in good faith is not substantiated. Deliberately false, malicious or retaliatory reports are prohibited, as is intimidation or retaliation against a person who raises, supports or participates in the review of a genuine concern.
16. Policy Review and Contact
We may update this policy when platform features, safeguarding risks, operational practices or legal requirements change. Organizations using institutional services should maintain their own current safeguarding procedures and ensure that relevant personnel understand them.
